I'm finally getting around to checking all the email I received while on vacation. A nice surprise was a link to the Douglas High School reunion site.
I didn't graduate from DHS, but from Kindergarten to the beginning of 7th grade (1955 - 1962), I did go to the elementary section of the school: The Vandenberg Building (this must be said in Important Tones to differentiate 'our group' from the kids whose classrooms were in The Annex, and from the little kids who went to The Badger Clark Building -- all this was before the high school was built).
This is my 5th grade school photo.
It is nice to see the scans of the yearbooks, and to recognize two of my elementary classmates who did graduate from the school (going through the pictures again: 3! 4?!). There are a couple of other 'iffy' names, but I may have known people of the same name someplace else. I'm also pleased to see my 7th grade science teacher, whose name I won't parody by repeating a popular TV commercial of the 1960s (pity the poor man who had to teach junior high).
I wish I recognized more people or names, but such is the situation for most military brats.
